This piece is woven from the mystery of the moor above our home, where legend tells of a mermaid who waits in the dark, still water. The cloth traces that meeting of myth and landscape. Shifting depths, soft ripples, and glimmers of light beneath the surface.
Through colour and texture, I wanted to evoke the feeling of standing there in the wind, the heather all around, listening to the hush of water and story intertwined. It’s a weaving of place and imagination. A glimpse of the magic that lingers where land meets legend. Woven in cupro, a sustainable reference to the cotton grass that is plentiful on the moor.
