As a member of Peak District Artisans, I’ve discovered how inspiring it can be to work alongside other artists and makers who are deeply rooted in this landscape. Collaboration brings new perspectives and possibilities - threads of creativity that intertwine to create something none of us could have made alone.

Whether it’s colour, texture, or shared stories of place, I love finding those points of connection where one craft speaks to another. These projects have brought me great joy and fresh energy in my practice, and I’m always looking for new opportunities to collaborate. If you’re an artist, designer, or organisation interested in working together, I’d love to hear from you. Please do get in touch to start a conversation.

Collaboration with Jill Ray - Autumn

This collaboration with landscape artist Jill Ray grew from a shared love of colour, pattern, and the shifting moods of the Peak District landscape. Jill created a digital print called Autumn, a piece full of warmth, rhythm, and glowing seasonal light.

Working from her design, together we translated the artwork into woven cloth, exploring how threads could echo her marks and capture that same sense of movement and depth. The process became a conversation between digital and handmade, light and texture. A meeting of two approaches united by the landscape that inspires us both.

Ongoing Collaboration with Sue Prince - Historic Canvas

This ongoing collaboration with folk artist Sue Prince brings together two traditional crafts - her intricate egg tempera painting and my hand weaving. Sue’s work is rooted in storytelling and history, and together we’re exploring how her art can be grounded, quite literally, in a handwoven canvas.

I’m weaving the cloth using historically accurate patterns researched and identified by Helena Loermans, whose remarkable work can be found at labo.pt. Each super-fine linen thread carries a link to the past, to the woven structures once used by weavers and painters centuries ago, while Sue’s brush will bring them vividly into the present.

This project celebrates the meeting of textile and paint, history and imagination. Two crafts in conversation, honouring tradition while creating something entirely new. Be sure to check back for updates.
